Child Abuse: Are our children safe ??

Today while we celebrate International Yoga Day, 94 women are

being tortured in the most vicious human act named RAPE in INDIA. I fear for the future of the baby girl on my mother land. Where safety has become a dream in Mothers womb, inside a Hospital ward, a class room in the School & College, on the Roads and among-st this male dominated society. These atrocities on women are irrespective of the age ranging from 2 years infants to 70 years senior citizens.

The outrage on children been increased by 336% in past decade 2001-2011. More than 48 thousand children are victims of this brutal act. From these stats one can clearly understand where do we stand in safe guarding the future of the country. Violence on children is wide spread across the nation but MP tops the chart.

Two innocent girls aged around 10 were brutally raped by friends father in Gujarat. In Mathura two policemen confined a minor tribal girl and harassed her physically. Lots of such instances are repeatedly happening across our nation. In most of the cases the person who commits the crime is not a complete stranger. Most of the convicted people are from the same family or the people who are well known to the children.

There are more than 10 articles written regarding this in Constitution and many laws were made but the progress in avoiding such cases is still unripe fruit The most irritating and unchanged reality in our country is that more than 80% of the child abuse cases are still pending in courts. According to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012(POCSO) every district there must be a separate session court for hearing these cases and there should be a dedicated public prosecutor appointed to handle such cases.

Children should be safe-guarded and we need to educate them how to raise alarms when some one tries to abuse them. Educational institutes must step up and undertake the activities which help children to protect themselves.

The land of customs and cultures has emerged as the land of rapes the reason for the outrage of the inhuman act is unknown. Protecting child rights is also major responsibility of the politicians and their respective governments though children don't have the right to vote.

Indian "Streets"

I am proud to be Indian, I am proud about patriotism we Indians have. India is the worlds largest democratic country. We have great blend of cultures and customs. We all have great ancient history. We value people and relations more than any thing else. Hail India...hail Indians. Once go through the following pictures. We Indians are great... then who are these people ?

All these people also belong to the same great nation. Don`t think that they belong to villages. Most of them stay in the most renowned cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. These people are also there in our so called great society where they should wait for months to feed their empty stomachs. Do you know the daily routine of these down trodden people...? here it is....

Most of the street children sleep on the roads...since they don`t have any shelters (but our gimmy`s and tommy`s have good shelter). They rise as soon as sun rises and start their never ending quest for  food. They start begging on streets and if they are lucky enough they might get a rupee or two. Now starts the real fight, they should share that rupee or so with lot of people. On the other side we woke up at 8am and we have lot of options for break fast. We need to make a choice where these poor kiddos never had any choice rather than begging.

As the day passes they need to strive hard....they start their quest for waste papers and plastic papers and plastic bottles. They get around two to three rupees for 100 bottles. These kids will fight at railway tracks and bus stops for these waste bottles... and plastic mafia is very effectively utilizing these kids to fill their empty pockets with lots of money.

At the evening their quest again starts for a place to pass the night. They face lot of problems even here.. they are thrown out of railway stations, Bus stops, parks and temples and finally the poor kiddo rest on footpath provided no police harass them. Again sun rises and their struggle continues.....:-(

I am also an Indian
According to the statistics 41.69% of people were below poverty line in 1990 and now it is 25.19%.... wow what an improvement...but think about rise in population from 1990 to 2011 percentage of poverty declined but people with empty stomach increased. We have transformed from under developed to developing nation in this sixty years of Independence but we failed to help them to fulfill their ever lasting quest. Even now we are proud to be Indians.

Have you seen Avengers....? if your answer is NO.... first go and book u r ticket :-D. According to me its a must watch film if and only if u have great fascination towards marvel "Super hero`s". Movie has some scintillating stuff, especially the big SHIP of S.H.I.E.L.D is fantastic.

The story revolves around "Tesseract" which is an unlimited energy source. Nick fury gets this from space and it was left to researchers to know its actual power. Loki, the norse god any how manages to get the Tesseract by controlling the S.H.I.E.L.D
personnel and makes some of them as his slaves. Loki starts experimenting the Tesseract in order to use it to invade the earth and to rule it. Here comes the necessity of super hero`s. The great HULK, Astonishing CAPTAIN AMERICA, Thundering THOR, Incredible IRON-MAN were absorbed as team Avengers by Nick fury. The goal of avengers is to retrieve the Tesseract since it can bring a great loss to man kind.

Tesseract
Avengers manage to get loki under custody of SHIELD but Tesseract is still missing. Super hero`s are freaks by birth and they start to fight among themselves. The followers of loki attack on the ship and loki escapes from the prison. The Avengers finally unite on the single cause to save the earth from wicked loki forces. Mean while loki successfully unleashes his army from outer space using Tesseract. The army starts attacking brutally and devastates the earth..... Now starts the real movie and the revenge of avengers is fantabulous....u must watch it guys.

Coming to performances Iron-man and hulk have stolen the show at end and Hulk is really fantastic with his bound less energy. One more thing is if u like super natural stuff don`t dare to miss this movie....if  ur belly cant digest super hero`s stuff better stay away....since it is the power pack performance of super hero`s :)

Sharad Pawar Slapped...

 24th Nov 2011

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was today slapped by a man at the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) centre in New Delhi. The incident occurred while the minister was leaving the premises after attending a literary function. The attacker, identified as Harvinder Singh, reportedly blamed Mr Pawar for rising prices of essential commodities. "This is my answer to corrupt politicians," shouted the attacker as he took out his kirpan (small knife) and threatened to kill politicians. He was whisked away by security guards soon after and was subsequently arrested by the Delhi Police and taken to the Parliament Street police station. He has been charged with attempted suicide, assault and criminal intimidation.

The attacker, incidentally, is the same person who slapped former telecom minister Sukhram inside the premises of a Delhi court, moments after he was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment in a corruption case dating back to 1996."I was answering some questions by a group of journalists when I saw this man coming towards me and I thought he wanted to ask me a question. I don't know what his intention was. It is up to the police whether they want to press charges against him or not...I am no judge to forgive him," Mr Pawar, who is also the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) which is a key ally of the Congress at the Centre, said reacting to the incident.

Cigarette: A fire at one end & A fool at the other

21 Nov 2011

One of the most popular quotes even a 2nd standard student know is "Smoking Is Injurious To Health" and more over this is also the most neglected caution quote. According to me smoking is like suicide and it is the most idiotic way to curtail your life span. Most of the children are getting inspired from their parents and about 80,000 to 100,000 kids start smoking worldwide everyday. The most interesting fact is about 15 billion cigarettes are sold every day and nearly 10 million per minute in this world. I don`t want to preach any thing to the smokers but i just want to mention some facts about smoking.

Why should you quit Smoking....?

 1. First thing is your most precious Cigar contains over 4000 chemical compounds and at least 400  toxic substances. When you inhale your bloody cigar it burns at 700°C at the tip and around 60°C in the core. This heat breaks down the tobacco to produce various toxins. Some of the toxins and their reflections on your body are Nicotine which increases cholesterol in body, Carbon monoxide reduces oxygen content in body.

2. If you want to end up your life with a cancer..go ahead because smoking causes a wide variety of cancers...some of them are Mouth cancer, Lung Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Cervical Cancer and Cancer in Kidneys, Pancreas and O esophagus.

3. According to recent research every Cigarette you smoke shortens your life by 11 minutes. Why should you reduce your own life time...just for this bodily pleasure.. nothing in this world is costlier than the life. Every eight seconds, someone dies from tobacco use.Smoking related-diseases kill one in 10 adults globally. Coming to Indian stats nearly 1 million deaths are registered under tobacco smoking. So finally if you don`t care for your life go head and smoke daily...

These days women are competing with men in each and every field and even in smoking they are giving the tough fight. Especially our Indian women enlisted our nation in the 3rd position globally with maximum number of female smokers. Mainly our Metro cities Mumbai, Delhi are at the top most cities with lots of women smokers. Parental smoking causes childhood chronic cancers to their children.

In India Govt made certain laws against smoking, a ban on smoking in public places came into force in October 2008 in an effort to curb high levels of tobacco addiction. Anyone caught breaking the law will be fined 200 rupees. The law also bans direct and indirect advertising of tobacco products and the sale of cigarettes to children but all these rules and laws are never followed in our democratic nation.

Who the hell asked you Kg rice for Rs.1...provide us pure Drinking water first :(

20th Nov 2011

Impure Water
Hyderabad is the 6th most polluted city in India, NONE OF THE WATER SOURCES IN THE STATE ARE SAFE FOR DRINKING OR BATHING Climatic conditions in the state are clearly worsening.

In fact, environmentalists say that the state capital is the sixth worst polluted city in the country. Alarmingly, the Krishna and Godavari rivers, that contribute around 90 per cent of the state’s surface water resources, are polluted with sewage, discharge of untreated effluents from industries and agriculture run offs.

The rapidly increasing air pollution and water contamination levels in Hyderabad and other cities, pose a grave risk. In it’s report, State of Environment in AP, the Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (Eptri), says that none of the water sources in the state are safe for drinking or bathing without treatment. The EPTRI clarifies that Godavari river water is within safe limits till Manchiryal, but further downstream, the water is very polluted. Kolleru and Pulicat lakes are in a worse condition. According to the Water Conservation Mission, the state will move from a “scarcity of water” situation to a “severe scarcity of water” situation by 2020. This will be the result of over exploitation of surface water resources and indiscriminate tapping of ground water.

In 36 mandals of East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna, ground water is unsuitable even for irrigation. Studies reveal that bulk drug industries in LB Nagar.Uppal, Bollarum, Jeedimetla, Sanatnagar and Balangar, are polluting the ground water. Eptri experts point out that even a major city like Hyderabad does not have total sewer system coverage, and barely one-third of sewage is treated. The rest flows into the Musi river. The present sewage system covers about 70 per cent of the GHMC jurisdiction, excluding former municipalities and a small portion of the LB Nagar sub-circle. The remaining eight former municipalities do not have a sewage system in place.

This situation results in the spread of diseases like cholera.

Mr. T. Sagar Reddy, an environment activist says, “The AP Water Land and Trees Act, 2002, enacted for water conservation and tree cover, and to regulate the use of ground water, is not implemented properly.” Hyderabad is struggling to deal with severe air pollution as well. According to the APPCB, Panjagutta, Abids, Charminar and Paradise, are the worst traffic junctions where carbon monoxide levels reach 4-5 mg per metric cube during peak hours, as against a “below 2mg per metric cube” tolerable mark.

APPCB senior environmental engineer, Mr T.Rajendra Reddy said, “Air pollution is touching the highest levels during peak hours at traffic junctions.

Vehicular pollution and traffic jams are the major factors for increased air pollution.
Idling engines, and very low average speeds result in vehicles emitting more unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. 9.30 am to 11 am, and 6 pm to 7.\30 pm, are the worst hours.” Suspended particulate matter is already at 300 micro grams per cubic metre, way over “must not exceed 200” norms. Places like Uppal, Jeedimetla, Shameerpet and Kukatpally have high levels of suspended particulate matter due to industrial activity and heavy vehicular traffic.

It’s a similar grim scenario in cities like Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
Over the past 10 years, temperature in the city increased by 4ÂșCelsius. The Industries Department has been resolutely uninterested in environmental issues.Eptri recommendations to the state government, have been ignored.
